I was out looking in shops doing research for my newest article on fall style trends when I picked up this book.
I resist looking at books because I move too much.
The moment I picked it up I fell in love.
Strangely, I had never heard of this artist.

Even more strangely, we lived in Spain for 5 months and I never knew his work was of the very areas we visited in our first 2 months – Valencia, Andulsia, & Madrid.
I am captivated by the brush work, colors and subject matter. I like it much more than other impressionists because it involves architecture, which I’m finding is part of my own developing artistic style.
I never knew I would become a traveler. (I mean, I had hoped!) When I finally did get to go to Europe I was much more enthralled with the buildings and structures than I had anticipated. Rome was an absolute DREAM. London was refreshing and surprisingly modern. But my soul was swept away, of course, by the beautiful ancient villages in Italy, France and Spain.
(I remember being stricken by the style change in rooftops and houses just from crossing from Spain north of San Sebastian/Donostia into France.)
A few months ago my dad brought me 50 lbs. of my Grandmother’s oil paints and brushes. I knew then the Universe was serious about me painting, and my journey into water-soluble oils had been a good one. It was time to uplevel to traditional oils.
Now I’m inspired and I definitely will be buying this book!
And I’ll have one more museum to ABSOLUTELY visit in Madrid!
Thank you Grandma for always directing me to more painting inspiration and thank you, Universe, for deeply knitting me with ancient artists!
With Love & Beauty,
Auretha
