Travel Capsule Wardrobe

Facing a “surprise” business trip around the world (literally!) I admit I panicked a bit.
7 countries and 17 days and a 50 pound weight limit on my bag! I had no time to shop and where to start?? I was desperate for help with what to wear for the various business meetings in each country, 2 formal work parties and lots of city walking in different climates.
I reached out to Auretha and she stepped me through planning a comfortable, beautiful, appropriately-corporate wardrobe that would get me through the entire trip! With only a couple of weeks to prepare, she made it easy – sharing ideas with me and shopping for me online, shipped to my house. Then we did a virtual try-on session to put the various outfits together – and she didn’t forget the accessories! By the end of the session, I had each day and event’s outfit planned, with interchangeable pieces to keep it fresh, with just a reasonable number of wardrobe items. On my trip I felt professional and polished, raising my confidence in multiple, multi-cultural settings. Auretha knew the fashion culture for each country, so I didn’t have to expend any jet-lagged brain power figuring out what to wear each day! What a relief!!
A couple of Auretha’s style solutions shocked me because they worked so well and were things I never would have considered:
- I had been avoiding dresses because I couldn’t figure out what shoes to wear with them that looked flattering. Auretha chose a pair of comfortable leather knee-high boots – great with leggings and dresses, perfect for the cool weather and lots of walking in mucky weather. Problem-solved.
- She ordered 2 different colors of the same perfect wrap dress, so easy, comfortable, and great with the boots!
- The gold jewelry and necklaces she chose for me were much bolder and larger than what I have always worn. I was shocked by how people responded to my new statement necklaces that matched the authority I had in my new role on that trip. She knew how to match my jewelry with the scale of my frame and my leadership position perfectly.
- A pair of fabulous red crocodile shoes that made my formal party dress pop!
